Life is a Selfish Endeavor
$12.00
This one is about the selfish nature of mankind. I decided to use imagery of a black bird, inspired by the images of the BP oil spill in 2010. Although this piece is talking about selfishness over our natural resources this is a concept that I extend to other aspects of life too.
Creating acrylic paintings, as well as digital and traditional illustrations, I like to use well defined and
uniform color pallets with little texture to produce print style paintings. The imagery and phrases I create
in my work come from subconscious dreams and passing thoughts.

in my work come from subconscious dreams and passing thoughts. I tend to focus on figurative forms of
both humans and animals, exploring multiple concepts including the idea of ‘the beauty of suffering.’ The
concept of accepting embracing the negative, as the positive can not exist without it. I also like to capture
philosophical and ethical thought, the concept of choas and nihilism, and feelings of empathy in my art.
